show, how is everyone doing? because when we are reading eight months and only hits you eight months since she passed. >> i always let ladies speak first. i always let my wife speak first, 'cause she is the strong head honcho of the family right now. >> what do you think? >> you know what, we are all doing good p you know, we are just taking steps one day at a time and dealing with this because we were not ready to say good-bye, not at all. it felt like an ambush. something hits you, you have to wake up and realize things are different. we just take steps one day at a time, rely on one another to get through. >> you know, there's so much healing that has to go on, pat, after something like that. what kind of in the decision-making process for you as family, you say that is when most families circle the wagons, come together, avoid camera, avoid any intrusion into your privacy. you all went exact other way. why? >> you know what the cameras have been there forever and the fact that you hear stories all the time, after she passed, you hear a lot of people come up talking about how close they were to her, about certain things that may have happened in

your life. this is more or less a continuation of a show that we actually had been working on two years ago. we just continued the process and the spotlight was actually on my life as it relates to what i was doing and balancing my life as a career, mother, a wife dealing with a husband that has cancer, a niece that was around all the time that really depended on her aunt. we were all a part of that. so we just continued the process. >> bobbi kristina, everybody seems to be focussing on her, going through a very -- a time in her life a lot of changes happening, talk about her getting engaged on the show. are you at all concerned, gary, about her being this exposed this young? >> not really concerned about it, because she has a good leadership. she has a good mentor right here in my wife, which whitney also had too as well. she depended on her, my wife very much so, in terms of leading her in the right direction, you know, guiding her and giving her advice and things like that so, i don't really worry about anything when it comes to bobbi kristina managing her life.

off the florida coast. plenty of rain and wind and rough surf as well. in terms of the temperatures, still cold. behind the front only 50 in tst kansas city. 51 chicago. upper 60s in new york city. as we get to the weekend we are concerned with what is going on with sandy. the impact being felt perhaps with gusty conditions in atlanta 74. more rain in the outer banks. as we head to the end of the weekend sandy continues to be off shore of the outer banks but still rain and wind through new england and only gets worse as the system starts to take the energy and the power from sandy and wrap it together. this is the big concern here across the northeast. widespread rain and widespread rain and surf and only gets worse. this system approaches making a landfall somewhere in the northeast or new england. we will fine tune the forecast but still we are talking, remember last year with irene,
